My house has been decorated for Christmas for almost 2 weeks now. I just wanted to be early this year since we are hosting Richard's family for Christmas on December 13th.
So I thought that everything was good until this morning. I turn on the tree and the middle strand of lights is EXTREMELY bright. Uh oh.
Richard said that the bottom part was like that a year or two ago. He had to completely restrand the lights and fix the problem.
He's not doing that again.
So off he went this morning to get a new pre-lit 6 foot Christmas tree.
Kyra is beyond excited to decorate a tree for the 2nd time. Ugh.
I can't complain about this tree though. We've probably had it for 3-4 years and Richard paid $25 for it at Lowes on a Black Friday.
Not too shabby.
Update: Richard left, but didn't buy a tree. So when he got home, we took the top part of the tree off and started replacing the blown bulbs in the middle of the tree. There were A LOT. But the tree is back to normal now and looks great! Thank goodness we didn't have to go the other route! I love my handy dandy husband! ;)

At least you have two eager little helpers!
Did you see that lady on the news this past Friday, gloating about getting 3 TREES?! WTF does she need THREE CHRISTMAS TREES for? Who cares if that was a steal/deal?
My dad's side of the family is being dicks about when we're celebrating. We usually do the Sunday before Christmas, when the Sunday before Christmas is about ONE WEEK before Christmas. This year, that would be the 21st, which is too close to everyone else's holiday plans. In years past, it's been fine to move it back one more week, to the 14th. Not this time.
Ugh. Some people.
