Richard got hired on at AMD (which is now Spansion) in June of 1997. Since then, he's worked "D" shift. "D" shift is Wednesday, Thursday, Friday nights and then every other Saturday night. Tonight is his LAST night to work this shift. His co-workers are having a party for him. They will be feasting on Rudy's BBQ (so jealous!) and numerous desserts. On Sunday, he'll start working during the day on "A" shift. He'll be training on days and then when he's done with that, he'll go back to nights on "B" shift. "B" shift is every other Saturday night, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights. So that'll be an adjustment. His old boss and some former "D" shift workers are now on "B" shift, so he's excited about seeing them again.
He's very excited about his promotion and is ready to get to work! He's a quick learner, so I know he'll do great! And, he's been waiting for this opportunity for 10 years! :)

Once again, BIG CONGRATULATIONS! to Richard!
This is going to be different for you, having a husband at home in the evenings. You should capitalize on that t.v./movie together cuddle-time!
