Oh yes, they are soon on the horizon. Here's why I'm prone to having them.
-Maeve is mobile. She's not crawling on her hands and knees, but she's army crawling and if she wants to get somewhere, then she does.
-Today Maeve stared at herself in a mirror for about 30 minutes and tried to put up to kneel against it. Soon she'll be standing. And then walking. :(
-Speaking of standing, she stood up against her bed (with my help) and stayed there for about 30 minutes laughing and being completely happy. That kid WANTS to be upright. She's very independent and doesn't want my help with much. When she's on her own, we are so screwed.
-Have I mentioned that Kyra starts Kinder in the fall?
-Have I also mentioned that Kyra wants to ride the bus? *shudder* My BABY wants to ride the bus! Mommy doesn't know if she likes that idea.
-Today it hit me that it's February. Next month is March, and then is April. April means that Maeve turns a year old. Last night I was watching "Friends" and Emma had her 1st birthday and I just burst into tears (stupid hormones). My BABY will be a year old soon!
-With Maeve growing up, I'm sure that weaning is around the bend. I have mixed feelings over that. In a way, I'm ready for us to be done, but the other part of me wants her to nurse for at least another year or two. After all, she's my FIRST nursing baby, but also my LAST baby. *sigh*

The bus thing won't last long. I rode it for about a week. The noisy, yelling kids; the fact that the driver went all over town dropping everyone else off first and the disappointment when we finally were dropped off at the beginning of our street and found out we didn't get to hang out under the big tree and play (like my friend said we would) because we could see our moms standing in the driveway waiting for us ruined it for me early on.
The bus just looks cool because all kids everywhere see it on all the kids tv shows and think it's a natural part of life. The reality sucks.
Richard rode the bus. He hated it, but he had no choice. They lived about 10-15 miles from town and school was even farther.
I think that we are one of the last stops, so maybe the bus will take her directly to school then. Who knows. We'll do our research. Also, the little boy next door will be in Kinder too, so Kyra will have a buddy to ride with. I'm kind of hoping that she changes her mind though. ;)
